Child Riding Belt
He Said
Mark Muth from Al Muth Harley Davidson in Black River Falls, WI gets many calls from me, some stranger than others. I was thinking Mark was going to think I was a nut case when I called to ask if he thought it was ok to strap a child to the driver of a motorcycle so they won’t fall off. Come to find out Mark had already heard of a product that did just that. After much research and a long wait we had our 1st child riding belt. Cindy needed a safe way to take her daughter Lauren riding with us. Lauren was only 4 at the time and had tendency to want to wave with both hands as we got rolling. Shortly after that she would be sound asleep. The child riding belt gave Cindy the peace of mind knowing that Lauren would not fall off when doing any of these things. We have now ridden as far as 100 miles in 1 day with Lauren wearing the child riding belt. You put it on the child first then place them on the cycle. It has a pad with handles on it that helps keep the child’s face from being stuck in the driver’s back and make the handles easy to grab. You then climb on and wrap the belt around you and secure it. You are now ready to ride, in Wisconsin the child must be able to touch foot pegs, wear a helmet and wear eye protection. We were so happy with this we became retailers of the child riding belt. We have sold them world wide with no complaints. Take the family riding and be safer while doing it. With this device there is no need to put the kids on the gas tank any more.
She Said
When I think back to my childhood, some of my fondest memories are of riding on the back of a motorcycle with my Dad. So when I started riding my own motorcycle, I wanted my child to have those same memories of riding with Mom. The only problem was that she was absolutely terrified of the motorcycle.
After helping her get over the initial fear of sitting on the motorcycle and the sound of the loud pipes, I decided that I needed to find a way for her to feel safe on the bike so that we could actually go for a ride. That’s when I found the Child Riding Belt.
The Child Riding Belt attaches the child to the driver to ensure that the child stays where he or she is supposed to be on the bike. To put the belt on the child, first the child steps into the harness part of the belt which then goes over the shoulders and secures around the child’s body. Attached to the front of the harness is a pad with handles on it for the child to hang on to, and to fill the space between the driver and the child. Attached to the front of the pad with the handles is the belt that goes around the driver’s waist. I have found that it works best to put the harness part on the child first, set the child on the bike, and then the driver gets on the bike and secures the belt around his or her waist. There is also a pad behind the child’s neck that provides support for when the child is wearing the heavy helmet.
Ever since I started using the Child Riding Belt when she was 4 years old, I can’t keep my daughter off of the bike! Both of us feel secure that she isn’t going to fall off, especially since she often falls asleep while we are riding. The child riding belt is the perfect solution for families who want to take the kids along!
Take the kids riding with a child riding belt.
