(She Said) I had been thinking about getting one of the popular 40 oz Stanley tumblers with the handle that seem to be all the rage lately because I always carry an insulated 40 oz water bottle with me. The ones I use have a loop for carrying on the lid, but not a handle, and I cannot tell you how many times I have dropped the darn thing because it is heavy and awkward to hold on to. And, they don’t fit in the cupholder in my car, so they are always rolling around on the passenger seat and end up on the floor. So, I loved the idea of the 40 oz Stanley tumbler having a handle and the fact that it fits in the cupholder in the car….however, I didn’t love the price! I began searching for something similar and found this one on Amazon and decided to give it a try.
This tumbler has all the same features as the Stanley…it’s insulated, has a screw-on lid to keep it sealed tight, there is a lever on the top of the lid that flips around to close the lid or give you to option to use a straw or just drink out of the lid opening, and has an ergonomic handle. AND it fits in the car cupholder! I filled it half with ice and half with water and left it on the counter and there was still ice and cold water in it after 15 hours. I turned it upside down to see if it was leak-proof, and it only dripped slightly out the straw opening. The lever on the lid that flips around to open or close it pops out for easy washing. The one thing that disappointed me is that the straw that came with it is slightly bent, but I have tons of re-usable straws that will fit in it.
Overall, I am happy with this “dupe” that cost half the price of the Stanley!
