(She Said) One afternoon when I was riding in the semi with Fred, we accidentally came across a sign for a winery called Fancy Pants. I googled it and found their Facebook page, and was super excited to see that they combine my two favorite things…wine and dogs! I noticed that all of their wine bottles feature a photo and name of a dog. We are always on the hunt for dog-friendly businesses that we can bring our dog, Mocha to with us, so I sent them a message and found out that they are indeed dog friendly in their winery. We made a plan and took our great friends Tom and Cindy with us, and visited on a Sunday afternoon. It’s in a quaint little building on the owner’s property. There was a “sip and paint” event for a birthday party going on at the winery when we arrived, and those ladies were having a blast. The owners were very welcoming to us (and Mocha!) and shared with us great info on each of their wines that they make as we tasted. Honestly, we enjoyed every single one of the wines. There was only two that were a bit dry, the rest were on the sweeter side. It was a great experience for all of us and we will definitely come back. I can’t wait to enjoy some of their wine out on the patio with Mocha by my side this summer! Fancy Pants Wine is located at 10946 Old 35 rd, De Soto, WI. It’s a gorgeous drive to get there, it’s located on the Great River Road.

(He Said) If it wasn’t for wrong turns we might have missed this place. Glad I made that my GPS sent me the wrong way… I myself like the sweeter wines but the 2 drier wines they had that day actually hit my wine palette quite well. The wines change as they try new things. This was apparent when a group of 4 showed up to taste the new ones they didn’t have the last time they were there. Being dog friendly and featuring dogs on their wines really hit us in a positive way. Miss Mocha (our Boxer) met some new people while we did some sampling. I’m sure this place will be even more of a hit when the weather warms up and people can enjoy the space outside. Don’t wait for the weather though, you might miss out on a limited wine.
We drive over an hour to go and taste us purchase. I am looking forward to taking my Red Hat Ladies there this summer.
Hi,
Glad you enjoy this winery also. Tell us more about the Red Hat Ladies.
